13. Gas Cooking Appliances

  1) Target Scope:
Home cooking appliances that use gas as fuel. Equipment for industrial use, gas grills, gas cooking tables, gas rice cookers, portable gas stoves, and appliances using gases other than the gas group of city gas 13A group and liquefied petroleum gas as fuel are excluded.

  2) Energy Consumption Efficiency:
Energy consumption efficiency (%) measured as specified by JIS S2103 for gas burner sections. For grill sections and oven sections, the energy consumption efficiency is gas consumption (Wh) consumed per one cooking.

  3) Category and Target Values:

  2. Internal volume is obtained by the formula: internal bottom area × internal height

  4) Target Fiscal Year:
  Burner Section: 2006
Grill Section: 2008
Oven Section: 2008

  5) Energy Conservation Effects:

Burner Section:
Approximately 13.9% improvement in efficiency compared to 2000 levels by 2006.
Grill Section:
Approximately 27.4% improvement in efficiency compared to 2002 levels by 2008.
Oven Section:
Approximately 20.3% improvement in efficiency compared to 2002 levels by 2008.

  6) Display Items:
Product name or type, category, burner section energy consumption efficiency (limited to models with burner section/ grill section energy consumption efficiency (limited to those with grill section), manufacturer's name

  7) Place of Display:
Catalogues and product bodies in which data on performance is shown. For appliances with burner section that have more than two burners, the heat efficiency of individual burners should be indicated respectively on catalogues in which performance data is shown.

  8) Exemption:
Manufacturers or importers that ship less than 5,000 units in total are excluded, but display obligations must be met regardless of the number of units shipped.
