8. Passenger Vehicles


  1) Target Scope:
  Ten or fewer person capacity gasoline, diesel, or LP gas passenger vehicles that have received model designation *1. Two wheel vehicles (including motorcycles with sidecar) and crawlers are excluded.

  2) Energy Consumption Efficiency:
  A numeric value (km/l) expressed as mileage per liter when driven in 10-15 mode.

  4) Target Fiscal Year:
  Gasoline passenger vehicles: 2010
Diesel passenger vehicles: 2005
LP gas passenger vehicles: 2010

  5) Energy Conservation Effects:
  Gasoline passenger vehicles: approximately 23% improvement in efficiency compared to 1995 levels by 2010.
Diesel passenger vehicles: approximately 15% improvement in efficiency compared to 1995 levels by 2005.
LP gas passenger vehicles: approximately11.4% improvement in efficiency compared to 2001 levels by 2010

  6) Display Items:
  Vehicle name and type, engine type and displacement, vehicle weight, transmission type and number of speeds, fuel system type, other major fuel efficiency improvement measures*2, such as cylinder injection and lean-burn engines, etc., energy consumption efficiency, manufacturer's name, notice for the use of premium gasoline, if necessary.

  7) Place of Display:
  Catalogues, exhibits

  8) Exemption:
  Manufacturers or importers that ship fewer than 2,000 vehicles in total are excluded, but display obligations must be met regardless of the number of vehicles shipped.
